Nanoharp

The Nanoharp is the smallest musical instrument in the world and is carved out of a single silicon crystal. The strings are silicon rods of 50 nanometres (nm) in diameter, from about 1,000 to 8,000nm long.

The Nanoharp is played by touching the strings with a laser. When doing so the Nanoharp\'s strings start vibrating at frequencies as high as 380 MHz (much too high for the human ear to hear it).
