Viophonograph

The Viophonograph was invented in 1976 by Laurie Anderson. It\'s constructed of a violin body on which a turning 7 inch vinyl record was mounted. The instrument was played by putting the needle (that was mounted on the a bow) on the record. The needle picked up the sound that was sent to an amplifier. The vinyl record was specially made for this instrument and contained several bands with violin sounds and phrases.
